OMD2 Nail Art Challenge Day 15-17 & #summernorules Fav Neon!

On to Days 15- 17 of the OMD2 Nail Art Challenge!

Day 15 ~ Abstract I have been doing a lot of stamping in these challenges lately. I used to have such a struggle with stamping until I got a new squishy stamper. For me it has been a game changer! So much easier to hold the stamp steady and gently press my nail into it than trying to roll the harder stampers across my nail. At first I had a few problems with pressing too hard and distorting the image but that was easily remedied by just being patient and making a concentrated effort to not press my nail too hard into the stamper. I am loving stamping now. Not to say that I don’t still have those days where I just can’t get it to work no matter what I do lol. But those days are few and far between compared to what it was! For this I applied 3 coats of Zoya Yana after my base coat and let it dry completely. I also usually apply a thick coat of my quick dry top coat to my nails before I stamp. This way if I have a problem it is fairly easy to use a Q-tip to remove the stamp without taking the base polish with it! I then used Mentality Nail Polish Emily to stamp an abstract pattern from Pueen Love Elements stamping plate PUEEN36 and topped it with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

Day 16 ~ Glitter Placement These nails will always have a special meaning to me! First this was my very first attempt at glitter placement and it was easier than I thought it would be. I can improve a bit for the next time but I was very happy with it! Then after posting it to Instagram and not really thinking about it I tagged Orly in my post. Later that day I had notifications from Instagram and when I checked Orly had reposted my nails to their account! Wow I was so excited!! Upon further investigation I found that they had posted it to Facebook and Twitter as well. That just made my day and I didn’t think it could get any better than that and I got quite a few new followers from that as well. I will tell you more about how my day got EVEN BETTER later!! LOL Now for the nails, this is 2 coats of Orly Tropical Pop from their Baked Collection. I absolutely love this color and I think it goes very well with my skin tone. I could not stop looking at my nails with this color on!!! And the glitter just went so well with it! Since it was my first attempt at glitter placement I started off small and just did the one accent nail with glitter that I purchased from Amazon in a set of 18 little plastic round containers with many different colors and finishes. This was also my look for the #summernorules Fav Neon, so it killed two birds with one stone as they say lol.

Day 17 ~ Galaxy These will be my third attempt at galaxy nails so I decided t try something a little different….pastel galaxy nails. After applying a base coat I used 2 coats of LA Colors Energy Source and let that dry. Then I took and sponged on random spots of Zoya Rebel, Dillon & Kitridge, Sally Hansen Xtremewear Lacey Lilac and then to tone down Kitridge I sponged a little bit of Energy Source over it. After that was dry I took a Sally Hansen Nail Art pen in white and added some random stars. Over all my nails I applied a coat of China Glaze Fairy dust and then topped it off with Sally Hansen Inst-Dri top coat. I did these while I was just getting sick so they don’t look too bad considering I felt like crap lol!!!

Ok we are making some headway! I apologize if there are some typos, I am still a little fuzzy around the edges. This cold just does not want to let go!! I am double checking but I’m sure some are escaping my notice lol!
